Chocolate Chip Cookies – DIY – Coz’ we got a sweet tooth !

So who doesn’t love Chocolate Chip cookies ? We are going to share the love and a secret recipe handed down over 2 generations , that is going to ensure that you make outstanding Cookies that make for fantastic tea-time snacks. Using the best quality products will ensure you make a perfect batch !


Secret Recipe

This recipes makes about 25 cookies.

Ingredients –

1 cup of all purpose flour

1/4 tsp of baking powder

A pinch of salt ( we use Fleur de Sel Guerande Salt Flakes )

115g of Isigny Butter 

100gms of Brown Sugar – We use Tate & Lyle

75 gms Caster Sugar 

50 gms of egg

30 gms roughly chopped hazelnuts (lightly roasted)

3/4 cup walnuts roughly chopped

200 gms fine dark chocolate ( bittersweet) finely chopped.

Method :-

Step 1: Pre heat your oven to about 180 degrees centigrade

Step 2: Line a baking tray with a non stick baking mat / can also use butter paper ( greased)

Step 3: Sift the flour ,salt & baking powder into a bowl .

Step 4: Add the butter & sugars and cream until light and fluffy.

Step 5: Add to the mixture of Step 4 the eggs and beat in until properly mixed in.

Step 5: Mix in the flour, nuts , chocolate and spoon 1.5 inch discs onto the baking sheet. Keep enough space between the discs to allow for spreading.

Step 6 : Bake in the pre-heated oven for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
